Don't find many SxS shotguns at the local gun shops so I was a little surprised to see an AYA Matador in .410 on the rack when I walked in yesterday. Owner made me an offer I couldn't refuse so it followed me home. It a 1959, 28" barrels, mod/full choke, a hair over 6 pounds with good stock dimensions. Shot it a few times and sst and ejectors functioned flawlessly.

I never knew the Matador was made in .410

OS,
That should be a great shooter. 28" and that weight will swing nicely.

There's something appealing about 410s that seems to strike just about everyone. I have a couple of these and hardly ever shoot them and have never hunted with them either but I still keep them around.

Jim you should give the a try on some quail or dove. Shoot some 3 inchers from them. Once you start connecting with one, you'll have a lot of fun.

Chuck:
I probably should. But I like my 28s way too much!

The .410 Matador is a great gun. They are very scarce on the used gun market.

It does handle nice. The barrel length was one of things I really liked about it. Most .410s that I've looked at have shorter barrels.
