Well, the wait is over. I have it from "a normally reliable source" the guns are in some stores and on their way to others. Price range comparable to the 16s and 20s. Only question unanswered yet is are they on a properly scaled frame? I doubt any will show on the Gun Library web site for a bit so the local customers will be able to buy them on the spot. Anyone living near a Cabela's store who can answer the "scale" question would be greatly appreciated!

Oh great; a 5 pound gun with 9.5 pound triggers. You can probably tell I don't like my 12ga Dickinson much...Geo

I was told by the president of Dickinson that each gauge is on a scaled frame.

They are also taking custom orders for bespoke guns including their sidelock sxs and o/u models.

Cabela's is only 20-minutes away from here. If I can find some time tomorrow, I'll go see if they have them. I have handled some of the other Dickenson gauges and they seemed to be ok for the money. Sorry to hear about the triggers, but I'm not exactly surprised by that. I've yet to see a Turkish gun that really did it for me.

Lloyd,

I would love to know what the weights are for both the 28s and the 410s...

Terrific. I have only been waiting 3 years.
None showing anywhere yet on their gun library site.

Good point. The lighter the gun, the worse the problem if triggers are heavier than they should be. And that seems to be one issue the Turks haven't whipped yet.

I'd like to hold a 28 gauge and play with it a bit. That gauge has always intrigued me for some reason.

The Dickinsons are true trigger plate actions. I'm told this makes them a bit easier to do trigger work on than even an A&D style box lock. I'll find out one way or the other if I get into a 28 ga. Heavy triggers are always a concern for me on any gun as well.

Makes it easier to remove the "guts" with less disassembly required. But I had doublegun smith Mark Beasland look at the triggers on the field test gun I had from Cabela's (a 20ga). In his opinion, it wouldn't be a good idea to lighten up the pulls very much.
