How can the roll pin be adjusted on a Parker SxS as to put bbl's back on face or does it require shimming or a dovetail?

Does anyone know of a source for the roll joint? Are they sized to the frame? I have been looking for one for a 1 1/2 frame 12ga for quite a few years. The part name of "roll Joint" stuck with me as it is discribed in an old Numrick Catalog.

The "roll pin" only holds the "Joint roll" in place. The barrels pivot on the "Joint Roll". The brothers P would put the gun back on face by putting in a new "Joint roll" a few thou bigger. Unfortunately, that ship has sailed.

When Parker was in business, they could supply the bearing bushings that fit on the hinge pin in oversizes. They are hard to come by today. They best approach is a thin dovetail in the hook. This will move the barrels back to face. The locking bolt must also be set to allow .002 or .003 of spring space between the flats and the water table. Be sure to adjust the forend so that it puts the proper opposite pressure on the barrels. I recommend that you contact Hugh Lomas of H.G. Lomas Gunmakers in Elkhart Lake, WI. He can accomplish the job for $200 - $300.

Mike Orlen can do a fine job of it, I'm sure.

Since you are in New York, try Doug Turnbull, Larry Del Grego, or Andy's Custom Shop. All do excellent work, and Del Grego specializes in Parkers.
