Nice, but will bluing look the same? I had the receiver (drilled holes) on a Model 70 welded up like that, then blued. You could without a doubt tell holes had previously been drilled because the character of the blue was different at the weld spots.

Here is a barrel before and after. I wish I had taken time to do better photos. The blue came out with no trace of repair. I think the welding on metal with higher carbon content with higher power can cause a concentration carbon around the puddle that shows up in the blueing.
