It's good that they can be sold into the food chain. In the U.K,. it is illegal to sell wild geese to prevent over killing which is easy in certain circumstances. Surprised the barnacles are going so far south now. When I started wildfowling in the early '70's they were only really found in Scotland and the borders; mainly around the Solway. It is only legal, under permit, to shoot then on the island of Islay. They are now semi resident in my area of the English Midlands with plenty about but still protected.
