Prices are advertised and if your'e on the cheap just don't go. Better yet why don't you advertise in magazzines etc and do your own big regional shoot on your property & at gun club pricing & let us know how it works out for you.

Thinking about cranking one up in Branson, MO next year or the following year.....but don't hold us to it. Still accessing the possibilities. Great facility, trophy trout fishing and lakes and family entertainment very close. Make it a weekend shoot and a week's family vacation.Anybody think they might be interested?

I go to shoots all the time. I know every number right down to the lunch plate. At $50.00 for a 100 bird fun shoot, a club doesn't make a lot.
Every person has a target price, and a facility refinement level, they are comfortable with.
My pet peeves are not about money. I control that. And when I come to your club, I intend to spend. They are about organization.
It would now seem, RGS invites every member to every shoot everywhere. I have been inundated with their offers. Email, and snail mail. I toss most. But, My singular pet peeve is:
If you are going to host, be a freakin' host. That means don't shoot. Meet and Greet only. Offer assistance to the guests you invited. Don't give the prizes to your buddies. Say Thanks.
Keep the extra hands out of the till. $1200.00 to shoot woodcock in some hotels off season is BS. When the shoot sponsor owns the hotel, it's called self dealing, hiding behind a fund raiser.
Again, if you are going to host, be a host.
Out there doing it best I can.

I for one would like to see another shoot in the south when it is still cold up north. Maybe the week before the spring Tulsa show?

I've shot several SC tourneys at Ozark Shooters (Branson) several times. Nice venue and good folks. Sounds like a winner.

I agree with what Ted stated about the Ruffed Grouse Society Shoots, very well organized. A 100 bird shoot plus lunch, if you had a 4 man squad it was $170.00, individual $50.00. This year they included if you shot a sxs it was $10.00 more for it's own high score. Normally this club charges $26.00 for a 100 bird Sporting Clays, and $6.00 for Wobble trap. Hard to beat. Club by me charges $32.00 for 100 bird Sporting Clays and $6.00 for a round of skeet.
The big events charge a lot more because they can.

In central Ohio the vintage shoots are currently about $50 for sporting and $45 for trap. You're own your own for food. The organizers try to put up a nice selection of awards so as to give everyone a reasonable chance at their 15 minutes of fame. Great group of shooters. I've got no complaints.

You could mention what that $50 buys. How many targets etc? I think the common complaint is with mediocre dollar birds, no scorers, and no prizes.

I don't want to hear it!! What a bunch of complainers!!! The cost of targets is an incidental.
I just went to the NE Side-by-Side at Hausemann's Hidden Hollow. 5665.8 miles round trip. $745.74 for 279.1 gallons of gas, and $1470.28 for thirteen nights in motels.
