Very sad to read this morning that Jack Rowe has passed away. If you have not seen the video he made with Larry Potterfield you should. Rest in peace Jack.

A great loss. I'm very sorry to hear this. At least his legacy will live on through his videos.

I prefer wood to plastic, leather to nylon, waxed cotton to Gore-Tex, and split bamboo to graphite.

So sorry to hear this. I enjoyed watching his video repairs with his remarks. He was a walking treasure.

Knew him for many years and always the gentleman. Will be sorely missed. Little known--Jack's hobby was catfish fishing!

Joe;
You are almost correct about Jack's hobby, however, it was "Carp" fishing in the European and British style that was his hobby. Carp fishing in Europe and UK is a big time sport, with several magazines devoted to it.

Yes, Jack was a walking knowledge base of the Birmingham trade and in gunmaking skills.

That is two veteran Brit gunsmiths that have moved their work benches to that large repair shop in the sky, I hope they have a lot to talk about while they are looking after the top man’s Purdie’s Holland's may even be Boss. Not everybody went along with his method of repair especially with the four pound hammer!!!!!!! Though I could see the sense in it “cheap gun cheap repair” they also broke the mould when they made him.

The only lessons in my life I truly did learn from where the ones I paid for!
