A friend of mine picked up what appears to be a very high quality shotgun. I am going to go look at it today and will get some pictures. I took a quick look at it a few weeks ago, and really liked the gun. Unfortunately I can not find out a lot about the gun and would appreciate any information on Forgeron. The gun is stocked with some very handsome wood. The action appears to be that of a H&H best grade. It is a sidelock with hand detachable locks, ejectors, side clips, with 3" chambers. The gun is fully engraved. I will get some pictures later today and post them. Any feedback is sure appreciated.

A lovely sideplated boxlock.
The time between the wars produced some outstanding guns in Belgium

Very respectable continental maker. Local dealer had Le Forgeron .30-40Krag SxS BL rifle. It was very well put together. Those pics above sjpwomg well struck barrels plus beautiful polish in and out underscore quality work often seen from this maker.

Interesting to see 3" chambers on a Best Continental gun of that period. Wonder if somebody had a special use in mind for it?
"Blackgame" hunter? Can't remember the German name for capercaillie. (Most people don't purty up a waterfowl gun to that extent. But maybe this gent wasn't "most people!" Be interesting to know....).

They made nice boxlocks as well as very high quality sidelocks.
Can't help with the Arabic. Could speak and understand pretty well at one time. Pretty much just started on the written language when I left the language school and went overseas--to a country where they spoke a very different dialect than the one I'd learned.
