Somewhere on a deserted island is a castaway with a FedEx Box with barrels in it, in about 5 years he will deliver them to you personally.

Just got 'em- appear undamaged, still wiping the oil off. A little disappointed I didn't get a golf club...

Wow, it just reminds every time I ship a weapon that life is a lottery, some odds worse than others.
SO far I have never lost anything important in the mail or UPS, but there is always the next chance (or do I mean shipment)

Congrats! FedEx came through. Did they offer an explanation/apology?
This was an aberation, for sure. FedEx is my FIRST choice for shipping firearms. UPS is good for other things, but they put more restrictions on for firearms than FedEx.
Forget the USPS, and their insurance. I want the GUN shipped safely...not an insurance check which won't necessarily replace the gun.

My question is have you picked up the gallon of Eezox yet?
The world cries out for such: he is needed & needed badly- the man who can carry a message to Garcia

Wingshooter16, congrats! Glad the barrels finally arrived!
That was some kind of crazy story. I think opening the box and finding a baseball bat would have sent me over the edge. You appear to have handled everything well.

Thanks for all the support and kind words. I've had to learn the hard way- and have by no means arrived- that my anger rarely accomplishes anything, other than to make things worse.
Everyone with Fedex I have talked to has been apologetic, and the only "why" ever mentioned was incompletely blacked out barcodes from the previously used box. Now sitting down to wax/clean/oil them according to Doug's instructions (thus Canvasback's reference to Eezox). Can't wait to use them on dove in a couple weeks.
