I just got my gun back from Toby Leeds who did an absolutely fantastic job of restocking. The gun is a 20 gauge Fratelli Rizzini Extra Lusso. I took the pics outside, so there are some reflection/shadow issues with the pics for which I must apologize. The stock is beautifully shaped and finished, the checkering and wood to metal fit is excellent, the stock made to my dimensions exactly. Thanks, Toby, a superior job indeed! http://groups.msn.com/Herbicide/shoebox.msnw?Page=3

Great work!
It is posts like this that make me glad I already have my gun in Toby's hands because I bet the waiting list just got longer.
Toby, you have no time for hobbies.

Thanks folks, and I should also thank Dave for this site. Without it I would not even know that most of the fine folks and highly skilled craftsman I've delt with even existed.
Utah, I think it's safe to say your gun is in excellent hands.

Filli Rizzini guns usually come pretty well stock originally. What caused you to restock?

Jakearoo, I got the wood from Pete Hiatt. Pete was easy to deal with, the wood was guaranteed, and his price was very reasonable. His contact information is in the advertiser list on the home page of this site. Just click on the list box and scroll down, and you'll see Pete's name listed.
Jerry, there was nothing wrong with the original wood per se except that it was cast off for a right handed shooter, and I'm left handed. Some guns that are cast off for the right hand I can shoot without a problem. I currently own a James Woodward & Sons that has a slight cast for the right hand, and I can shoot fine with it and have no intentions of restocking it. However, this gun I just could not shoot well at all. I really liked the gun and wanted to keep it, so I decided to have it restocked. I also have retained the original wood too.

Beautiful job and a delightful testament to the well-deserved "Best Gun" status of a boxlock done right. You must be thrilled.
