Anyone know how the resurrected Joseph Manton firm is doing?

Are they building and selling guns?

Seem to be offering a bar in wood boxlock or something, sidelock, over under model and a three barrel model.

Yes, the bar in wood is a trigger plate gun, supposed to be similar to the MacNaughton, internally.

I just wondered if anybody is buying them?

I'm sat here wondering the same thing....

Without sounding harsh its simply my opinion:

The appeal of the Manton name to me is really fine flintlock and percussion lock guns, synonymous with class and quality. Part of the excitement of owning a Manton would be finding a really good and interesting example. Why should i be interested in their guns now over other fine established makers? who's making them, how are they priced, what makes a manton gun unique? Other wise it really is just a name.

What would interest me is someone manufacturing fine well balanced double and single flint and percussion guns, perhaps its too smaller market to be viable but that to me would be cool as it gets - You could argue that companies like pedesoli cater better for those wanting quality reproductions but still it would be cool to see these offered as a true "best" gun.
