For those who think appeasement is helpful to the cause of reasonable gun ownership..... http://www.idontcarryaknife.org/knife-crime/what-do-i-do

That's very interesting James... and very predictable.
I wonder how long this informative thread will survive before the Thread Police whine and cry to Dave to have it deleted? I see the Open Carry in Texas thread has been purged. God forbid anyone mentions anything of interest that ruffles the feathers of liberals who support anti-gun politicians. They cannot simply move on or let it go. They feel compelled to cry and call for censorship. Also very predictable.
A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.

James ,I handy on choked - that is really something ! I especially like the "reasons why people carry knives" Here I thought it was normal to carry a pocket knife everywhere I go ,I use it for all kinds of stuff ,never once thought of using it for protection - or to seem tough or gain the upper hand in a fight ...I have made a toothpick on occasion ,i've even whittled a spork while on a hunting trip because I forgot to pack one , I sharpen my pencils in the shop with it , just the other day we were Moose hunting , and I used it to split my sandwich because my buddy forgot his....Jeez ,I feel bad I should've asked him was it OK ,I would feel terrible if I had made him uneasy .

Wow... I was laughing at first because I thought the website was a joke.... Then I realized that it was real... And now I can't help but pity the fools who elected the moron that wrote those laws.

there has been a proposal for a while in the UK to outlaw sharp points on kitchen/cook knifes - round them off so they cannot be used for stabbing

Among a number of notable quotes to cite, I chose this one:
"If you are confronted by somebody who is carrying a knife, try your best to walk away, dont run as you may fall over."

Chris (Newf to those who don't know him), that too was my favorite section. "Reasons why People carry knives" Hahahaha! I felt like emailing them and saying "you forgot the number one reason....to be able to cut something when I'm not in my kitchen" but I think the humour would be lost on them. Now, I'm going to walk away from this thread....I'd run, but I might fall over! Keep it happy everyone.

In my right pocket is the Schrade + my late Father gave me a long time ago. If carrying it is against the law, I've been in violation all my life. But in the left pocket is the S&W 360PD in .357. I know I'm legal carrying that. The moral of the story of her brother's death is don't bring a knife to a gun fight. I think. It could be have a gun, also.
What a sad race of humans.
Best, Ted

I used to travel to the UK on business. At a break in one of the unending meetings, there were 'biscuits' (cookies) served. They arrived in a sealed package and our host was having some difficulties opening it. I took over and neatly sliced it open with my pocket knife.
It was very quiet in the room for a while.
It wasn't until later that someone let me know that knives were verboten.
