Thank you,

Carder's doesn't say anything about quality but if it looks well made $500 doesn't go far these days, meaning it's probably worth it.

Mr Wieland did an excellant job on his book 'Spanish Best' helpful information, however as we have seen from the Belgium gun trade and the confusion there I would suspect that the Spanish gun trade is as equally confusing. He needs to write a more in depth second volume to cover some of the small shops that stamp their names of some of these more obscure Spanish guns. I have a Avancargas Anchu, S.L.(A. Marcos Rezea) stamped <AMR> that I would like to find some more information. Mr Wieland should team up with some of the members on this Board like Researcher and Bob Chambers, their attention to detail is incredible, and really dig into the Spanish gun trade!!!! While overseas in the Navy I had an Arrieta built and I really enjoy it. More information on the history of their trade would be interesting.

Mr. Weiland published the second edition more than two years ago. I am not sure how a more exhaustive research for a book could happen beyond what Mr. Weiland did. He made multiple trips to Eibar, where he became great friends with several old noted gun makers, I remember a number of mentions of trips to see and talk with (and hunt with) Ignacio Urgartechea. The old school gun makers that befriended him were able to give him a wealth of information on "extinguished" small shop makers, much of which is in the book. I have corresponded with Mr. Weiland several times, he says he is in the process of researching a third eddition now, which will include much more on the fine Spanish Best over/under guns. Not to take anything away from the names you mention, but Terry has indeed done his homework, and done it well!!
