I'm also trying to find out how much to ask for a Remington Model 32 over under serial number 1565. The gun has been well used and appeared to be in o.k. shape but after further inspection, I noticed the bottom barrel is bent. I'm not sure if this is fixable without replacing the barrel.
The gun has been modified by magnaporting the barrels and from what I have been told, the chambers have been opened up to allow the use of plastic shells... That’s the bad. The other half of the gun is in better shape. The wood is in fair to good condition and the gun has custom engravings.
The guy working at the local gun shop said he would give me $500 for my Lefever 16 gauge and the M32. That seemed really low to me....he seemed hesitant to let me walk out of the shop with the M32.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I can take and email picts in a day or so.

The bad thing here is that it will cost more to fix the damage than the gun is worth if it was original. Same for the Lefever.
However, some folks a willing to pay the cost.

What kind of Lefever do you have? I agree the offer was very low- good that you walked out.

The Rem. Mod. 32 in well used condition will only bring $450 to $500 on a GOOD DAY, while a really pristine condition M32 target gun can easily bring $2K and up.
On the other hand, your M32 is beyond "well used" if the barrels are really bent since the value of any shotgun is in the BARRELS. Original barrels that are ported AND bent makes it a parts gun to most people...too bad. But that's probably the reason for the low offer.

Who did the engraving? If it is a Griebel engraved 32, (he did a bunch)it would be worth a few thousand without barrels. A good engraving job does not neccesarily need to be signed and identified to increase the value of the gun. What is the grade and serial number of the Lefever?

How do I identify the engravings? The gunsmith the looked at it mentioned them. The Lefever is a DS grade....in failry poor condition.

Yup, the bottom of the receiver may add some information. Various grades of 32 above standard grade were identified by the stampings like 32TC, 32F, etc. Mid grade engraved guns below grade F are rare and not often pictured in catalogs, if ever. Consequently, even serious collectors have a hard time identifying factory D and E Grade Model 32s when they see them. If your gun has a designation on the receiver bottom like 32D or 32E, it is time for further study. If not, it is most likely an aftermarket engraving job.

The gun is a 32. My other o/u is a 32TC so I know where you are looking. No letters ect. on this gun. I know that the engravings are aftermarket. Not sure if that subtracts from the value at all.

A little engraving seldom detracts from the value of a gun with ported barrels. I kind of like it. My Wirehair has a docked tail. After seeing the pointer on this gun, I know why. The engraving is very Winchester-like and in character with the era of the Model 32.

Mile, could you post a better, full length picture of the barrels? How long are they? Is the barrel actually bent or is it dented? You might consider posting the gun for sell on this site. There could be several interested parties here, including myself.
