Does anyone know the cost of a new oak and brass SxS shotgun case ordered from Purdey for one of their guns? How about a motorcase? I assume they will make such a case on request.
Thanks in advance.

You might try an enquiry mail to either of these http://www.teglondon.co.uk/http://www.casecraft.co.uk/I have no direct experience of either, but Purdey would be expensive; my guess is that they would sub-contract to a specialist business - which might even be one of these.

TEG, makes all the cases for the London Makers. I have two of their cases, a motor case and a compact case for my Purdey and Atkin. I will tell you they do not respond to well to emails. Better to call. They are very busy all the time.

You might be better to pick up a case here in the US and have it restored. I had an oak and leather restored here in the US for a Holland Royal I bought.

You might check with Marvin Huey in Missouri. He makes excellent cases and probably can tell you the price of a Purdey case vs what he would charge for his manufactured case.

Recommend you look at huey in Kansas City he does first rate work. http://www.hueycases.comIf you find a case that you want the interior redone completely to save a little on the cost of one from scratch then Huey is also a good option.

Thanks in advance. Guys, I really don't think he cares about the cost. It looks like he wants a Purdey case for his Purdey shotgun.

With the Pound being down it might be a time to call them directly and order one if that is what you want. Others point out, correctly, that they are not made in house but I doubt the maker will sell them for much less than Purdey. Might cause a little hard feelings between the case maker and Purdey.
If you could buy it direct for a fraction their sales would drop and you are a one time customer not a repeat buyer like Purdey. Or maybe I am wrong the case without makers label might be a lot less. Either way I would rather call them directly and ask rather than waste time with emails which it wounds like the case maker barely tolerates. If you are lucky Purdey may have a period case which they can have reconditioned for your gun. The best of both worlds to me.
A friend who use to build custom rifles explained why he took his phone out of his shop. He had a two year backlog of orders, almost all paid in advance and the phone only wasted his time. He is gone now but I do wish I had ordered one of his rifles.
