You guys give me more laughs than my great grandchildren. Thanks, and let it accompany your celebrated gratitude at your Thanksgiving. Canada had its Thanksgiving last month, the second Monday in October.

Curses, foiled again.

I was that Red Under The Bed.

In 1964 (seems like yesterday cool ) I voted Communist in the General Election that brought Mr Wilsons first labour government to office.

I was working in Glasgow at the time which was a deeply corrupt and parochial Labour stronghold with no credible opposition. The was however a rather engaging and charismatic Communist standing, Jimmy Reid. No way was I going to vote for Yer Darling 'Arold, so I ticked the box for the Kremlins man.

Regrettably but predictably, Jimmy got buried in the usual and equally predictable Labour landslide. He went on to become an authentic voice of the aspirant working class, something few of the politicians of that time ever managed.

So there we are Lads .... 'tis me the Hon Gent. refers to.

Reminds me of last October federal election when I was going to vote "strategically" first time and favour Liberals against incumbent Conservatives---until the Liberal party so confident of victory was caught advising the oil and gas industry before the election how to lobby their new government.

Liberals ruled half of the last century because of consummate skill of talking left and ruling from the right. I about-turned for another trouncing to my usually favoured party, the left-of-centre NDP which I'm currently on the outs because of its big-city dilettantish, unrealistic green leanings. It's always complicated, isn't it?

Any chance that a red star could be created in the avatar of all the communists, so that they could be easily recognized?

It's possible, cap. There wasn't much fuss when they made a yellow one. I remember the gold, silver, bronze and blue of school days as measures of doing homework and conformity.

Would the red stars be distributed among all those revolutionaries who stormed the barricades, or graded with bars of distinction among liberals and conservatives and in-betweens who voted for change?
