DES/TSD:
A beavertail fored fits around the barrels and therefore the gap under the barrels are not evident to the eye. A splinter forend is fitted under the barrels and the fitting is closer in order to get a proper lock up. In a perfect world there would be no difference between the two. Reality is that what you can't see you don't complain about.

I noticed some wearing marks under the forend which will be visble if bwt is replaced with a splinter. So rebluing is needed or why not 2nd set of barrels. I´ll give up the idea of the modification and "try" to live with beavertail, which is much more comfortable. Note that less than 500 shots has been fired.
