How do 471 Berettas compare to Parker Repos in 20 gauge? Quality, shootability, resale. They both seem nice and in the same price range.
Thanks

I looked into both of these guns more than once. Basically, both will do the same job and are not far apart in weight...most times. Apparently, the weight of the 471 20g can run quite a bit higher than the advertised weight. The few 471's I've held did not have anywhere near the fit and finish of the Repro's. Wood was prouder and checkering a bit sloppy.

From a cost standpoint, I think the Repro's are running $1k to $1.5k more than the internet prices for the 471. In-store prices might be closer. The value of the Repro has a track record of going up (assuming condition is maintained) as time goes on, but the 471 will go down in value from the minute it's purchased and only go up as new prices go up.

I second Chuck's comment about the Repro. I own a 2 barrel .28 gauge and it is my go to gun. Fit, finish, balance are all great. Only downside is the case color tends to wear off quicker than some other CC I have seen.

Shop wisely, there are some bargains on the Repro from time to time, but not near as many as 5 years ago.

Jim
