Would anybody who was there care to comment on the turnout and the event itself?

I was there Saturday morning. It was no were near the event that it was years ago. However, it seemed to have a few more venders and more attendees than last year. Hopefully the trend will continue. There seemed to be a lot of buying and selling going on also. It was worth the trip. I will go again next year.

Guess that's what I was thinking too..... When it was at Pintail Point it was an "event". Now it's seems to be whatever. I drove a day to and from (I'm in Michigan) many vendors and it was fun, but I wouldn't now. I think they need to rethink this event to bring it back to what it use to be.

I was at the event on Saturday only, so I can speak for that day only. I thought Hopkins game Farm did an excellent job on setting up the courses, there was not much waiting at each station. This was my first time attending the Vintage Cup, so I can't draw comparisons to past years.
There was a decent amount of vendors, me and my son enjoyed the day.

Scores are posted on winscore.com. I shot 6 of the side events plus the main event, and loaded foe a couple of flurry shooters. The targets were excellent, and the courses were run very efficiently. There were 3 courses, small bore, big bore, plus a whole third course used only for the main event. Plus the flurry station, plus the rifle venue. I had a blast as usual.

As usual, George and Patti Hopkins provided a great venue with a welcoming atmosphere.

There were plenty of vendors and lots of guns to look at. I know a good number of guns changed hands over the weekend.

There were definitely more shooters than last year. I dont know the exact number at this point. Morris Baker was out and about with his camera, so I expect we'll see some pictures soon.

I also know that the Vintage Gunners Cup will be back at Hopkins next year on the same weekend.-----Matt

Good report, Matt. Thanks for the info. Sounds like it came off well. Judy and I may try to make Georgetown if we can work it out.

My wife and I were there and had a good time. It is a very efficiently run competition. What's missing is the social aspect of the old Vintage Cup.

There used to be a Friday evening cocktail party for registered main event shooters and vendors. A great time to socialize and to put buyers and vendors together.

There was also a Saturday night banquet which was great for meeting new people.

Shooters in the main event were squaded. Four or five strangers shooting the main event together. Only you weren't strangers after spending several hours together. It was less efficient, but more social.

There was always beer and wine to consume after shooting. Everyone could talk about the course and targets. Seating was available, with shade, at the five stands so that people could watch comfortably while waiting to shoot.

We had fun. But it's not like the old days.
