That is impossible!! Nothing owned by a "Trap Shooter" could survive 108 years in that unmolested condition!! In that period of time a "Trap Shooter" would have cut-down/built-up the comb four or five times and fitted a D-W pad, then a Morgan Adjustable pad!!

Great gun Walter.

My guess is it was not owned by a 'trap shooter' we know of today. Or the shooter died shortly after its purchase?? I still retains its 1914/15 Perkins pad. I think I still have the order book from this era--we will see what if anything that reveals. More later.

Well well, I found the original order. It was shipped later than I thought -shipped to Bob Smith on 4/6/16 and made for a This. W. Ross, 1396 Commonwealth Ave, Allston, Mass. Two things-The Curtis lock up(the 2nd lock up--this gun has the first style lock up) must have come in later in 1916-and Ithaca must have had in stock because it was ordered 3/29/16 and shipped just a few days later. It was probably 'put up' as the old gun makers referred to a gun just completed. A note pencilled in saying it must be in Boston by 4/20.
I wish I still subscribed to Ancestry so I could get more info on our Mr. Ross.

Walter,
I have a 7E single barrel trap gun serial # 278826T, is it possible to find out who originally ordered this gun?
I appreciate any information you can give me.
Thanks,
Ken

Cool stuff. Check out that Ithaca Gun Co IGC patch on Risser's vest!!

Interesting that the trigger looks blued as does the receiver.
