Bob, when you try something like this, you can test it by clicking on the "Preview Reply" box instead of the "Submit" box. Then just scroll down the page a bit to see if it worked OK. If it doesn't show up in your Preview, it won't show up when you Submit it.
Which image hosting site are you trying? Maybe someone here has already used it and can point you in the right direction.

I've been using tinypic.com, works well, fairly intuitive...

It revealed all my private info and all posted pics.
So I deleted the single picture I intended to post.

When I open this test pic I see what appears on the site itself. That includes the Main PostImage tool bar, Images Icon, Email address Icon which works, Log in or out and the tool bar above the picture.
I will leave it up for a while to get responses as to what others see.
