Ive loooked around and cant find any data for 2 1/2 12 gauge load data for the Cheddite hulls RST uses? Ive found some data in my BP load book but I prefer To use a more common wad and not be limited to their wads. Thanks.

If you find a load listed in 2 3/4 hull, using the white Winchester AA wad try it in a 2 1/2 cut down hull with the shorter red Winchester AA wad. Point is that you need to adjust the wad column height using the same wad with a shorter crush section. Some of the Europeans wads come in multiple crush section heights. When you see old doubles with long chambers the extra length was used mostly for extra wadding not more shot.

Cheddite hulls, like most euro hulls have a lot of room in them. So adjusting the wad height comes with a lot of flexibility. The tapered US hulls are often harder to use for short shells as the internal room can be limited. After loading a few send them out to be tested. Money well spent and once you know what combination works well stock up a good supply of wads for future use. After PB was discontinued many had loading information which was obsolete because the ran out of powder. I was lucky enough to find 30 plus pounds of PB which will last me the rest of my loading days.

The old hard back Hodgdon shotshell data manual has a small section on reloads for 2.5 shells.
