I know this isn't the site for handguns, but I am looking for a holster that I can carry my .22 S&W Model 41 Short barrel (5"?) in. I hunt doves & prairie chickens in the Nebraska Sandhills, (I grew up there) and sometimes run across a rattlesnake or a porcupine. Sam Ogle, Lincoln, NE

If you google "holster for S&W model 41" you will get a couple of hits including DeSantis, Triple K, etc. I am fond of the Safepacker line of "holsters" as you can fasten them to a hip belt and they don't look like holsters, and they might be a bit more kind to the finish and sights on a nice gun like the Model 41. https://www.thewilderness.com/safepacker-concealment-holster/#safepacker-bottomWhile I admit to carrying a J-frame S&W concealed when I bird hunt for other two-legged threats pretty much you have everything you need for snakes or porkys with the shotgun you are already carrying. Now, hiking or dog training in the off-season, that's another story. Bruce

I'm not sure if they have one for a 41, but I've been carrying daily for almost 8 years with a Crossbreed and love it

You did not say if you wanted synthetic or leather Flap or no flap left hand or right hand, or front or reverse
I use my right handed holster on the left side so the gun butt does not contact the holster/gun.

Try El Paso Saddlery (epsaddlery.com). Lots of choices in holster designs & very high quality. I had them make a holster & spare magazine carrier for my Colt Woodsman MT & reasonable delivery time.

You could just walk around the snake or porcupine.

Walking around is the best bet.
