Walking up snipe @ 80-85° makes one go light.

Walking up doves in the dunes at 115F and near 100% humidity makes one go even lighter. Also makes one question one's sanity. My cousin grew up in those conditions and last September was the first time I have ever seen him collapse in a heap at the truck.

That cries out for a couple disposals bottles in the pouch,

I used to wear a 70oz CamelBack, and carry a couple of frozen water bottles. Sometimes even that was not enough.

I don't make long treks in warm weather. The only warm weather hunting I do is early season doves, and I don't need anything but a belt shell bag/game bag combo for that. But, this is my favorite shoulder bag. I like it so much I went on a quest to find another a couple years ago. It ended successfully when a member of this board graciously gave me one of his.

They're no longer made, so I was thrilled to get another one just like it ................ but with a better strap. laugh

I just purchased one of these from Westley Richards, called their Scotch Bag:

Looks to be a neat bag to grab for a short upland hunt with little chance of success...the kind of hunt I increasingly find myself taking!

“The Brown Trout” in Harrogate, has enough stuff to keep me enthralled ( and broke), don’t even get me started on the back streets of Inverness.

Out there doing it best I can.

I have a proper, English style leather shell bag by Horsefield of Terrance BC, Canada.

I have a very nice leather McAlister English styled shell bag, but only use it for hunting from a buggy for quail. It just doesn't carry as well as the old waxed cotton bag pictured previously.

I have a Filson small field bag, but it is more a cartridge bag than a game bag for me. The Filson bag gets used as a BP possibles bag during the ML deer season.
I use a Cabelas strap vest for hunting Sharptails and Huns.

Evidently a "gentleman's bag", for use by one who doesn't bust through tough cover to hunt birds. I'd hate to see what it would look like after plowing through a few briar patches and getting that netting hung up in a couple devil's vines.

A single strap bandoleer type bag is useful when waterfowl hunting. I'm often wading in water deep enough to dunk my coat or vest pockets. I'll sometimes put my Boyt trap bag over my shoulder and it works well enough.
