Pretty crowded proof marks. Everything unusual, out of the ordinary? Thank you.

Not really anything out of the ordinary. Originally proofed sometime between 1904-25 with 2 1/2" chambers for a shot charge of 1 1/8 oz. Reproofed in 1991, chambers not lengthened. Kinda running out of space for all those proof and reproof marks.

Marks look all ok as L. Brown says.
However I would also check wall thickness. Original bore size at 13/1 could be anywhere between 719 & 728 and its now say 732+

Good catch. Could represent quite a bit of honing.

13/1 was the first proof bore. .732 was the reproof bore. They reproofed the gun because when they cleaned up some pits it went out of proof. That or it got honed many times over the years. Mike has honed a few barrels for me and says it takes a lot of honing to remove very much metal. Now reaming is another matter.

I asked for a reason: I'm learning. So, 18.6mm = .732".

I'm not yet confident with my wall thickness gauge. Other viable ways to measure walls? Micrometer the exterior, and divide the increase in half to get one walls thickness?

Measure you bores. If within in .010 you should be fine. Proof testing is done for a purpose and has a .010 margin of error.

If within .010" of the last proofed bore measurement?
Currently, without a bore gauge, but will work on that.

That won't work. Barrel wall thicknesses are not uniform, due to striking. Some areas of the barrel were thinned more than others during profiling. The wall thickness gauge is the only accurate way to determine the wall thicknesses.

The bore diameter largely remains constant, the differences being created by the exterior. Thought it might work.
