My eyes are fine and I also can't say what Purdey did or didn't do 170 years ago....and neither can you two.

I had a look at my Purdey percussion gun. As with the gun in first post, the "1/2" of my rib address extends both above and below the borders of the rest of it.

Why so crAnky frAnk? You seem upset you are unable to see what the rest of us are able see.

Maybe get out a little and you might broaden your knowledge base, if you get yourself some new eYe glasses that is.

jOe is comparing it to his own Purdey.

Much like he compared the double trigger Model 21 to his own Model 21 in another thread.

Drew isn't allowed to comment on anything he does not personally own, but the standard is different for jOe.

jOnes I've never claimed to have owned a model 21....and rarely do I comment on a cult gun like the 21.

I have owned two Purdey's a 9 bore muzzle loader and a 10 bore hammer gun....I'm not comparing anything about this gun to the two I've owned.

Not much doubt in my mind that back then Purdey would do any style engraving someone asked for.

Before I jumped to all these conclusions I'd want to see how the barrel fit was when hooked into the breech.

In general ...........are the experts (and by experts I mean you wonderful people on this forum) thinking this is legit or original barrels mounted to another gun and more engraving on the lock to blend it together....?

Very well jOe.

I'm just a non-malevolent leg puller.

It's an interesting gun, perhaps the assembled multitude can get to the bottom of it.

Oh, and I'm sampling the Jack Daniels Tennessee Rye. I had a coupon. It's not all bad...
