What best replicates the bluing of small parts on Ithaca flues/NID and LC Smith such as triggers, safeties, wood screws and trigger guards? prep and process?

Many thanks

Not sure about Ithaca, those LC parts were nitre blued. Polish and immerse in the "salts" heated to 600 deg. F
