I imported this interesting volley gun by Pieper for a client and he dropped it on the way home damaging the horn buttplate and smashing the toe of the stock. He thought he found all the pieces but he did not making the repair a bit more challenging than it would typically be. A couple more top coats and it will be done. 7 shots with one pull of the trigger, maybe made for bank shooting waterfowl?

Looks great.

Did you just build up the plate with epoxy and then file/sand to shape and checker?

Rob, I used Alknet in boiled linseed and some spirit stain both. The inlet plug did not take the color as well as the original wood so I had to stain it in addition to the oil to get a good color match.

I don't know about the rest of these fellers but I'd love to see some in between photos...

You know in between the smeared accraglass and the finished product.

Next time I will take pictures of every step of the process so those among us who rode the short bus to school can follow along as well.

These were typically used for high flying waterfowl, namely geese.

Some of these got imported back in the day aswell.

I'd give a pretty to see a pattern made by those seven bores firing at once. Can you imagine trying to regulate them if they weren't right? laugh

The concept is like the British Nock gun used by the Royal Navy by boarding parties.
