You may do better selling the case and gun separately if the case is of decent quality.

I can give you a USA value estimate as follows: Brand Value three (BV3), Original Quality grade seven (OQ7), Current Condition level five (CC5). BV3-OQ6-CC5 = $933. OQ7 is a second quality boxlock non-ejector. CC5 = Minor repairs needed or proper restoration accomplished.
Hope that helps.

thanks again i think its worthless over here in the uk by the sounds of it so will more than likely just chuck it in the cabinet , might give it a trip out , on a small shoot day i go out on , i did quite well with it when i tested it out for a really light gun compared to my others

Perfect for many days in the field, only fashion has sidelined them ! You can`t beat a s/s for handling and carrying qualities.

Hello James Tyrrell, it's s lovely little gun and the case is a nice extra. Unfortunately the market has died for side x sides, particularly bottom end non ejectors. I don't see the demand ever returning, but you may find someone willing to pay a couple of hundred pounds or so if all is good with the gun. I would use the gun with pleasure and enjoy it. Regards, mrwmartin

Horrified when I saw the bit about the guns being handed in especially the Punt Gun which would not require a certificate to own and a valuable antique too. Sacrilege to scrap that! Lagopus…..

They were all valuable. Just not to them.

do you not require certificate for muzzle loading punt gun ? as there were 2 and the lady who handed them in gave one to another person as i did not think i could keep it on a shotgun certificate , she now has it upstairs in a bedroom cupboard . keeps asking do i want it , the story goes my grandfather shot it whilst not on the punt just lent against a farmers wooden gate , the gate was not latched shut when he shot the shot broke his shoulder , maybe a story maybe the truth never been confirmed . i will get a couple pics of it , hammer action but you have to put a cap thing on it , stands about 6ft tall has a muslin bag of lead balls about the size of a giant marbles also a bag of like shrapnel small nuts bolts nails screws etc . the old tins of black powder i threw away years ago
