I recently restocked a Model 21 Winchester/ 20 ga that came in with a Miller Trigger. I think it was originally delivered with double triggers, I kept the Miller trigger. I'm having some intermittent trouble with the trigger, sometimes it's not resetting. I'm not that great on single triggers and any suggestions would be appreciated. Gil

Phillip Crenwelge. Likely the best trigger guy I have ever met in my life too. He used to be part of the P&P Gunsmith team the other being Patrick Gottberg they were in Wells, Mn. Pat still is. Phillip ended up moving to Texas to help take care of family. Pat still does gunsmithing and work for Remington from the factory overflow and custom work.

But Phillip is your man.

I don't suppose being in Texas all these years has done much to take away that hard Minnesota accent of his, Eh?

Gil. make shure every thing is very clean. Did it function ok before the restock? A slight change in the space between the upper and lower tang can play havoc with some single triggers. Also double check clearance around double trigger and sear inletting.
Good luck.

I did indeed send the Model 21 over to Philip Crenwelge. The turnaround time was fine, work was fine and I will definitely send more stuff to him. My only gripe (mild) was the return packaging. I had sent the barrels packed in a plastic tube and cloth sleeve and carefully packed the buttstock etc. It came back with marginal packaging minus the plastic tube. When I called to see how he was doing he said, "oh, I thought she had sent it out." So that part of it wasn't up to speed but the gun arrived without damage. Thank you so much for the referral. kind regards, Gil Russell Tucson AZ

Philip is not only the best but also the fastest smith I have ever seen. In the past year he hired a young gal who does all his paper work does recieveing and shipping. If he hears about your problem he will cure it. He likes to keep about 80 guns behind. At the same time I will tell you I saw him do action work on 2 K80's, repair triggers on a 682 and assemble a stripped 21 action and tune the 21 trigger in about an hour. All work was perfect.
