Triple-S Development makes this choke in two models for 12 or 16 gauge. The first range goes from Cyl. to Imp. Cyl., the other from Mod. to Full. It is set for the more open pattern for the first shot, and when the gun is fired, the choke automatically advances to the next, or tighter position for the second, longer shot. Or, it can be locked into either position. Price is $34.95 with standard adaptor. "Screw-On" adaptor to fit Winchoke, Lyman Choke, Cutts or Poly-Choke is $4.95.

If I remember correctly, Polychoke made a choke that would automatically change from an open setting to a restricted setting on the 1st shot. It didn't change the world either.

By the By- do either of you gents know who might be selling/buying choke tubes for Lyman Cutts Comps?? RWTF

EBay has a steady stream of cutts chokes. Even a few come with several inches of barrels they were attached to. The lesser known choke systems even show up from time to time.

There is a firm in Newcastle England that is making a range of screw in chokes for cutts compensators which do not extend beyond the end of the cutts body.
The chokes are not cut to coincide with the slots in the compensator body so they will perhaps be a little quieter/less blast.

Thanks Edster- I have a mint condition Lyman Cutts full choke tube in .410 I'd like to trade even up for a 12 gauge Mod. or skeet 1 Cutts tube. Do you mean Numrich in Kingston, NY perchance..?? RWTF

In practice I don�t notice much difference in my skeet model 12.
I weighed the various Lyman chokes I have (on kitchen scales so more as a comparison than an accurate weight).
Spreader = 60 grams
Imp cyl = 70 grams
Full = 100 grams
The new internal fitting choke with minimal protrusion = 100 grams
The new choke is modified but I am guessing they all weigh the same.

The difference in feel from the Lyman full chokes seems minimal and not something I notice in practice. In fairness I do not shoot the model 12 as frequently as my other guns so someone using the gun as their main gun might be more aware of a change in balance.
Do you notice a difference between using spreader or improved cylinder chokes compared to your full choke?
I think that muzzle heaviness is inevitable with a cutts set up.

No, but I am answering for a friend who has a factory installed Cutts on a solid rib M12 12 gauge-- I like M12's for several good (IMO) reasons: I grew up shooting M12's- own 7 at present- (2) I like the slightly muzzle heavy feel of the M12's-- better for pass shooting-IMO Thanks for the incisive reply- I discern that you are a serious shotgunner- RWTF
