In doing a winter cleanout I found a flat of 16 gauge B&P Classic Type 1 Shotshells 29 gram. Length is 67mm which would seem to work for short chambered guns. Has anyone shot these, and does anyone have any idea of pressure?

Tom Armbrust tested the F1 Classic 28 gm in 2001 at 1275 fps and 10,500 psi Here is the B&P infro on the F2 Classic 29 gm; click on + INFRO https://www.baschieri-pellagri.com/en/catalogo/cartucce+da+caccia/1/1/16.aspx1312 fps (possibly muzzle rather than 3 feet) at 720 BAR = 10,443 psi The F2 Classic fiber is 700 BAR = 10,153 psi

thanks. Mine are yellow. Darn easy to confuse them with a 20 gauge hull. Like the lime color of the newer ones.

My buddy has some of the old yellow ones. Remember when I ordered these. Didn't pay attention to the fact that a flat was only 8 boxes. The shells showed up and I called where I ordered them from to complain and they said I needed to learn how to read better, because it said 200 rounds per flat. I did recall I felt pretty stupid at the time.

The 5's are really lethal on pheasants in my 16 gauge guns. I've never recovered a pellet. I took one of the more recent brown-cased loads apart this fall and checked them out. The particular shell had slightly over 29 grams of shot. They measured as true US #5's and even a little bit large. The shot looked very uniform, very round, but what struck me was how hard it was. I have a set of pliers I use for the all my squeeze tests, and I've done it enough to know when shot isn't "hard." With these B&P F2 #5's I had to squeeze pretty much as hard as I could to show a slight flattening where the pliers jaws clamped the shot. It's impressively hard shot.
