I am so sorry to hear this news. Mike and another member were both generous with their time and effort in admitting me to the Brotherhood of the Ideal Shotgun several years ago. Mike and I exchanged many emails and phone calls regarding his help in my acquiring an Ideal directly from France. Since then he lost his beloved Coco and had acquired a Brittany that was beginning to work out fine. RIP. All of you who have lost a close friend have my condolences. Gil

I'm so very sorry to read of Mike's passing. I did not know him well at all but did exchange a few pms with him and encouraged him to get another dog after the passing of Coco. I was delighted to see he acquired the new Brittany. Gone way, way to soon. Steve

Always sad to hear of a brother hunter passing. Mike and I had talked about him coming to GA to shoot doves with me. He was enthusiastic about it. Heaven had a special place waiting for him. Now, it is filled.
Rest in peace.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

Mike had a searching, inquiring mind which I had experienced somewhat at the Flatwater gatherings and on short trips for Prairie Chickens in eastern Nebraska. This past season we got together in the sandhills and I was fortunate to get to know him a good bit better while thoroughly enjoying Mocha's travels down the road to becoming a world-wise hunting companion. That's an exciting time to be around a dog in its development, witnessing its victories and disasters, more so to share in Mike's joy as the events unfolded right in front of us. Small events in the overall life of the man, I am grateful to have been there with him, sad that he has been taken from among us.

Hey if you guys want to set up some kind of a rendezvous out in the Sand Hills this fall, sort of in Mike’s honor, let me know I’ll drag some gear out and set up a camp.
I prefer to go out there later in the year just because the temperatures are better.
Out there doing it best I can.

That, is too bad. I knew him only through this board and a few occasional emails, always about French guns.
Godspeed.
Best, Ted

I am sorry to learn of Micael's death, but I am glad to hear of his devotion to God and the helping of mankind as a result. Thank all of you for your tributes to him and his life. I am certain these tributes will be of significant comfort to his family and friends.
Kindest Regards;
Stephen Howell

I didn’t know Mike but reading what you, his friends, have written I wish I had. Learning this morning both here and on the 16ga site of his sudden passing I thought of the words of English minister, John Donne. Though written 400 years ago they remain just as true and sobering.
No man is an island, Entire of itself, Every man is a piece of the continent, A part of the main. If a clod be washed away by the sea, Europe is the less. As well as if a promontory were. As well as if a manor of thy friend's Or of thine own were: Any man's death diminishes me, Because I am involved in mankind, And therefore never send to know for whom the bell tolls; It tolls for thee
