My Fall has been an exceptional one for a number of reasons, but according to my physician, my extracurricular outdoor habits may be paying dividends I hadn't anticipated. Went to see her last Friday for a number of minor complaints (mostly I was concerned about a probable tick-bite and/or a latent sinus infection). She did her special muscle-testing voodoo (don't ask) and came back that I hadn't likely been bitten, but that I had picked up some sort of intestinal parasite. She modified some of my "old guy" medications, added in a multi-vitamin and some (I guess) anti-parasitic herbal essence. She also gave me 30-days of doxycycline (for both the sinus troubles and the possible deer tick-bite). It was then that I was informed that while my weight was up a little (my wife's stress-baking is deadly) my blood pressure was/is now down to 120/78. Almost no now-poisonous mainstream news, very good food, good vino, lots of long walks, and the company of like-minded individuals seems to pay dividends that I'd of never expected. Only 5 days later now and I'm feeling pretty darn exceptional, so she was clearly onto something. Planning my next hunt now...

You are correct in your findings Lloyd. A body in motion tends to stay in motion.
My cardiologist recommends 200 minutes per week of elevated cardiovascular burden.
Out there doing it best I can.

I get it Foxy, but who would you rather have handling your junk? Lady doctors are great IMHO.

The title is just foreign to me. The words "excessive" and "hunting" just don't go together. Put together, they are an oxymoron......... kinda like "living in Atlanta".
May God bless America and those who defend her.

Excessive is in the eye of the observer.
Lower A1c Lower cholesterol Lower blood lipids Lower BP Better regularity Better blood flows
But where the real benefits lay is in brain function and delaying aging. Muscle tone, posture, balance, strength, bone density, mental clarity.
All these things are improved with an active upland life.
Losing your balance, and becoming unsure on your feet, will either get you hurt or take you out of this game in a hurry.
You can train against that.
Oh, and you’ll be surrounded by inaccessible hot chicks when you do it. God bless Lululemon!

Pretty much all my red meat for the last 4 years has been deer and elk. Much improvement in digestive health.
