Picked up a Husqvarna 310BS. This is my first SXS. Looks pretty good for 1929. Does anyone know if these typically have chamber length markings. This one is measuring 2 3/4. Trying to figure out the best shells to shoot through this, any suggestions? Id like to get it out for some sporting clays but not sure about shooting the shells I have on hand through it. Its choked full/xtra full. Finisher was Oskar Fredriksson. Weighs about 7 pounds. Husqvarna 310Husqvarna 310

Can’t answer your question on chamber length. I just like to measure them. A remarkably easy process. But they are fine guns, very much undervalued in the NA market.
Oskar did a couple sidelocks that belong to some people I know up here in Canada.
I had a 310 AS in 16 gauge that I foolishly sold.

Only the very latest Model 310s, 1947 and later, were chambered for 2 3/4-inch (70 mm) shells. The exception was the Model 310X the Pigeon Gun which was chambered for 70 mm shells.

I read that as well so not sure if it was changed at a later date to 2 3/4 or not. It was sold to me as 2 3/4 and my measurements verify this. I was curious if any were made 70mm and if so would they be marked.

I had the barrels of my WW-I vintage 310AS blued by a well respected double gun smith, and when I picked them up, he said he also punched the chambers out to 2 3/4 inch for me!!!!

I'd be fine shooting 2.5s through this one but cant find any. Since its 2 3/4 I may just stick with some I already have. I have a good stock of 2.5 20s but no 12.
Has anyone tried the Remington Peters paper shells... kind spendy but seems closer to what this shotgun was built around.

Something around 1100 fps should be fine. The hotter 1300 really feel like they thump the gun alot harder
