Our club has very similar rules. The only thing we don't do is limit the number of shells you can take. Most of the guys are long time members and at least decent shots, so it's usually not an issue.

My host went from a huge pay hunt to a few chosen friends. By Sunday afternoon I'm usually there alone. He lets me stay at his Grandmother's (passed away) house on the property so after the morning hunt and around midday we hang out and visit at his barn. We haven't gotten a lot of birds the last few years but as long as my percentage is good I'm happy. I'd go just for the visit. It includes a Mandatory Sunday Lunch with his extended family. Gotta love it!

That sounds like a wonderful event. You are lucky to be invited to the Sunday lunch and treated like one of the family.

My most fun is the second or third week of the season. In years past I have invited several father-son groups to hunt with me. Two years ago was our best. Last year our bird numbers were down as food plots suffered form too much early rain.

But two years ago we introduced seven young shooter to hunting with a lot of great memories. Best was a ten year old young girl who killed three more birds than her 14 year old brother. Might have been a bit of coaching on my part, or she could have just been a natural. I do know she went to a local Sporting Clay outing a couple weeks ago. No word on who won. Young shooters are our only true future in this sport. Take a couple kids shooting.

George Earl's Going South

This picture was rescued from a Liverpool Lime street Pub one I frequently used in my youth. This picture now hangs in York Railway Museum. How many lamps can you see? The more you drink the fewer you can see.

The only lessons in my life I truly did learn from where the ones I paid for!
