Saw a Greener Martini .297/.250 Rook rifle for sale.

Are there any commercially loaded/available cartridges it could be rebored or re-barreled for?

Groove diameter should be .251” so a bit tight for .25-20.

The cases can be formed from .22 Hornet ( rims will need to be thinned) and cast .25 ACP bullets are the right 50 gr. weight and .251 diameter.

If it is not rusted out why not keep it as it is?

If the bore is rusted out then re-tube to .22 Hornet ( probably need to bush firing pin) or bore out to .32 S&W Long, .327 or .32-20.

Like Parabola, I vote to keep it original. The world is full of Hornets but there aren't many .297/250s around. If you insist on an available caliber, re-barrel it and send me the old barrel.

If the bore has gone you need to factor in the time and costs of gunsmithing.

In my experience it is more economic to look for something similar where someone else has already thrown his money at it (in the same way that you can buy a sleeved shotgun for a fraction of the current costs of re-sleeving)
