"Don't love what can't love you back." and "A trash bag is the best way to inner calm." Every year we go through house and attic to weed out stuff. Extraneous items go - old speakers, car parts, manuals, maps, unused cooking machines, books, old bicycles, old car parts, etc. I had to toss my father's tools when he died...couldn't get them to my house..and I really wanted that drill press, etc. I just went through my tool box and had to trash 20 craftsman tools I'd bought in 1962..just useless today along with all my old whitworth Triumph motorcycle special tools, wrenches and sockets.
Not saying to disrespect the gun. But weeding of a house as you get older is important. Just do it because after you are gone, the younger generation will likely have to toss it. My brother for instance is a Randall knife expert. He's now winnowing down his collection concentrating only on the Vietnam era knives we used. The kids won't want to deal with this later on.
If you are not using it, and it is not a family heirloom, let someone else enjoy it. the kids houses are already full. As for price, you could always put it on Gunsinternational, post a price and see what happens.
