And the >>Snuffbox<< on the Système Maximilien Nicolas Colleye looks to actually be lever that allows the separation of the tubeset from the frame. Seems it rotates to allow the crosspin to drop out of a slot of a frame hanger of sorts. Serbus, Raimey rse

Oh man! I didn't realize we had a whole tread on this when Daryl emailed me about it! I was probably too busy bidding on it, and then debating if I wanted to sell one of the kids to continue bidding on it, to check!
I meant to find time all last week to actually go look at it too as it was being sold from a gun shop 25 minutes from me!
I ended up keeping the kid so I'll just have to view it as an admirer some time instead of as its owner.
I love that the depiction of the hunters actually shows them with a pinfire.
