The Old Lyman 'Easy' presses used to have a stand alone aluminium tube with wad guide fingers. Although it is over length and made for 70mm. cases it could easily be turned down to shorten it. If you can't source one I may be able to put my hands on a spare. There should be some around. They came with the press but no doubt they would have been supplied separately. Lagopus.....

It is amazing how much stuff is on Ebay once I have a couple good key words to search on.
Wood lathe should work, just turn the maple part the size you need it and put a hole in it, then make a recess for the mec finger bushing. Then head off to the local hardware store with a wad in hand and find a washer with a hole large enough that the wad passes thru. Drill the holes thru the washer and use wood screws to hold it in place.
For loading 2.5 shells I size ,prime ,add powder, wad, shot ,over shot card and then I roll crimp off the press with a hand turnover tool.i use a mec single stage press .
That's how I do it - MEC 600 and a roll crimper of indeterminate origin. Yields the most perfect square roll crimps. BTW The wad guides at Southam's are Barclay's Patent - I made several when I was building case tools.
Brent, look at this and skip to 3mins. 30 secs and you will see the object I mean. Easy to shorten one if required if one can be sourced. I'm looking for a spare that I think I must have somewhere. Lagopus.....
I think.im on the trail of something very similar to that Lee die. I will build a wooden arbor for it and I'll be good to go.
I've made a lot of different tools for loading this gun. 4 different case trimmers, a priming press, a depriming tool, roll crimping setup, spring loaded wad compressor. They work surprisingly well and are fun to create and improve.
