A lot of people are Reilly saturated. But I'm still looking for some answers about this set of barrels and have not heard anything back from the advertiser. So I'm reposting it here. Would appreciate comments about the proof marks, the barrel twist, and H&S:

A Reilly percussion gun 18 bore SxS barrel set is being offered on Gunbroker which, if it is authentic, will present a new serial number problem for Reilly's from the late 1830's-1847.
https://www.gunbroker.com/Item/1009915336

The barrel has a SN 4188, which is outside of the current understanding of Reilly SN chronology. The seller claims the barrel has J.C. Reilly's name on it though this is unclear. No address looks to be on the barrel rib. And, the barrels were proofed in Birmingham. One proof looks to be post 1855 (could it have been possibly reproofed at that time?). Reilly Serial Numbered guns were rarely proofed outside of London. "H&S" are stamped on both barrels and the "Damascus" pattern looks a pretty mess.

You are correct that the bore (18) and Crown over BP Provisional Proof mark were not used until after 1855.
Odd that the crossed halberds mark at the breech is a different size than that on the barrels.
Little contrast remaining but I agree the barrels are Twist - can't say if Stub Twist or plain ol' Skelp

BTW: I have now documented 11 different barrel or tube maker's initials, and H&S is a new one. Unfortunately, I haven't been able to find any list of early 1800s British tube makers to match the initials
When I get organized I'll post them.

Reilly was one of the few London gun makers stamping bore sizes on his guns long before the 1855 proof mandate so that can be a little tricky to use as a date marker (though these do look associated with the proof stamps). For instance this is a Joseph Charles Reilly (address: 316 High Holborn) 6 bore dangerous game gun dated circa 1842.

However, these proof marks are post 1855:.

There is this site compiled from will's mostly but nothing popped up:
