That is good to know, would not have thought of that. In my case, I have no plans to hunt in Africa and the conditions here during hunting season is not very friendly to mould (almost always below freezing). Another option would be "mill felt". It is 100% mould proof extremely tough and even mice won't chew it. However, it would LOOK more at home on a $75 musket made in India than an English SXS LOL.

Watch EbayUK, some good stuff pops up from time to time. I just picked up several, NOS express sights there. I am currently negotiating with a dealer in the UK on a buying a large quantity of accessories and have told him I will buy any slings or swivels that he has. If I end up with some surplus swivels I will let you know.

I may be in need of a front sight. Was working up some loads and it is shooting very high (9" high @ 50 yards). I have a couple loads that look promising so will load some up and shoot 100 yards but doubt very much that it will come down to POA from that high. It also shoots a bit right (an inch or so) at 50, even though I see the front sight is made slightly to the right already and the rear was centred and marked. I drifted the rear a bit to the left to see if I can dial in the windage but my OCD does NOT like to see the rear off centre, even if it is just a little (don't like the front being off centre to the right either but it is not very noticeable). Anyways, if it still shoots high at 100 with the 100 yard leaf, I will need to get a slightly higher front sight. I suppose I could make one but the dovetail appears to be very shallow and "delicate" but if I can get a proper sight and just replace it, that would be preferable.
