I've lost the key to my aluminum Americase gun case. It has both a center combination lock and key locks to the front right and left, so I can still use it for airlines since it is rigid. I had two keys but put one in a "safe place" and can't remember where I hid it! Locksmith can't duplicate the key without one to go by, and it appears the company no longer makes gun cases. Anyone know how I can get a key?...Geo

It may be easier/quicker to replace the locks, which can be found online. I had to replace the combination lock on an Americase. Found a direct replacement online and used pop rivets to attach, just like the original.

Wow! I sent Americase an email asking for help. If they can't help, Bluestem"s suggestion makes sense...Geo

NEITHER WILL I!! š Good luck!!

The safest place on earth, for things you want to not lose, is a myth. Might as well just toss them anywhere. It gets worse with a second person keeping track of things and then compounded by age. I feel for your loss. I have picked several locks when the key disappears, but people get nervous when they watch you picking a lock. Replace the lock and you will find your keys within a week. Do not ask how I know. Then my lovely wife, remembered moving them for me to an safer place.

The key to me keeping up with a key is to not put any one key any place by itself. That's a perfect recipe for disaster. I keep most all my keys on two key rings, and each one has an Apple Air Tag on it. If they get misplaced or lost my wife can go to within inches of them in a matter of seconds, using her Iphone. The only important key we have apart from the others is an outside hidden key to our house, and we move it from time to time.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

Not much of a locksmith if he canāt make a key for something as primitive as an Americase lock.
Maybe someone can send you a picture of the key, that should be sufficient for just about anybody with a bench grinder to make one.

Just a follow up for information on the Americase situation. I spoke on the phone yesterday afternoon with a representative from the company. He advised that as of 2024 the company no longer supports parts (including replacement keys) for their gun cases. He went on to say that there were only two key variations for the Americase latch-locks. They used to supply a copy of both the two keys on request, but that service is no longer provided.
Luckily another member here has graciously agreed to send me one of his Americase keys. There's a 50% chance it should fit...Geo

I remember when Bill started Americase. Myself and Paxton arms were their largest dealers. I dropped the line when he started to sell direct. Over the year they transitioned away from the gun case business to a more lucrative one.
