As the holiday nears, let us remember those who serve our country as well as those who have given their lives to defend us. Wishing everyone a safe and happy Memorial Day! Karl

Remembered with gratitude.

Memorial Day is a day we should all give thanks and be grateful for those who died to defend our Nation and keep us free.
Memorial Day is a Day... a single Day that we celebrate a National Holiday to remember those who gave everything for love of our country... one single solitary day a year.
As we remember and give thanks to fallen and deceased Veterans on this single day, we should also remember that the anti-gun Liberal Left Democrats have dedicated the entire next month of June to celebrate Pride Month... a whole entire month to celebrate and normalize mental illness and sexual perversions. Pride Month was first recognized in 1994 when a coalition of Liberal Left education-based organizations in the United States designated October as LGBT History Month. The federal government first recognized the month in 1999 when President Bill Clinton declared June “Gay & Lesbian Pride Month.” In 2009, President Barack Obama declared June LGBT Pride Month. On 1 June 2021, President Joe Biden declared June LGBTQ Pride Month.
And we all should remember that disgusting little fact when we go to vote this coming November.
A true sign of mental illness is any gun owner who would vote for an Anti-Gunner like Joe Biden.

I suggest you visit them and give your thanks. They live now in "the Wall" and in memorials all over the country. They are lonely when no one visits them. Mike

I try to remember all of those who gave us this great country, to live in, to grow up in, and to raise our own children in. I try not to take all of these great gifts for granted. The history of those sacrifices doesn't seem to be taught much to the younger generations (much younger than me) these days, and I find that troubling. Hopefully, I am wrong about that.

We sleep soundly in our beds because rough men stand ready in the night to visit violence on those who would do us harm.
Thank you to those men, and to those who gave to preserve that safety, in the past and in the future.
May God bless America and those who defend her.

Memorial Day is special in that it was established to remember those who gave all in defending our country. I was born right at the end of WWII, so I wasn't aware of some of the traditions associated with WWII. My route as a paper boy included several houses that had homes with a blue star in the window. I asked my parents what that meant. That symbolized a family member serving overseas during the war. If that individual died in service, the blue star was replaced with a gold star. We were fortunate enough that all 5 of my uncles who served returned home safely. One house in my hometown (Waterloo, Iowa) had 5 gold stars in their window. The five Sullivan brothers were all lost together when the cruiser Juneau was sunk.
