Any experience with add on ribs?

I am currently awaiting a rib from https://www.keensights.com/. I used them 20 yrs ago +- and had good luck with a solid rib. I am currently awaiting a raised vent rib for a 20 gauge SxS. I have had luck with a pair of SKB 200 HRs-but those are no longer imported. If this works as planned, I will have 20-28-and a 410 set up with vent ribs which helps my shooting.

Hal,
I don’t have any experience with add-on ribs, but I expect others here have. I’ve considered using them. I see the ones in the link are aluminum. Do you know how they are attached to the barrel? I’m thinking solder or epoxy? Again, I’m looking to learn more about them.

They appear to be attached by a tape--and can be removed with mono fish line or dental floss if need be. A good project for instant gratification? They are making vent rib to the proper length and are installing two beads. Should be ready to install over the current rib after degreasing. Time will tell.

I had a Keen rib on a Perazzi that shot way too high. Instead of cutting the comb down I added a rib of the height equal to the amount I would have had to shave off the comb. Worked like a charm and looked ok. The original rib was flat and the add-on looked like it belonged there. Keen uses an epoxy that allows you to remove the rib with a piece of monofilament worked between the add-on and the original rib. I recommend Keen highly.

I've used add on ribs by CompNChoke. Aluminum, and a good addition to help with a high shooting gun. That two sided tape is unbelievably strong. It's the 3M stuff that they sell to put moldings on the side of cars. Really tough to remove, but I've done it.

May God bless America and those who defend her.

What are you using these guns for, Hal? Are you using them for trap, skeet or both and sporting clays?

Jimmy-Shooting Skeet and Sporting Clays. Will try some bunker again this Fall. I really like the higher ribs and more upright head position.

Received my high rib - and installed it as per instruction. Install included a 3 ounce tube of Black Adhesive Sealant, Silicone RTV by Permatex. Install has cured for a few days and will
shoot this a.m. I was quite pleased with the customer service via telephone in helping order order my rib and I did have them install front and mid bead. Perfect fit and an easy install.
Hope it shoots as well as my 200 HR's.
