skeettx Sidelock Joined: Jun 2008 Posts: 5,690 Likes: 223 Amarillo, Texas	Clean and degrease the area Warm the area ( I use HOT tap water) let dry apply cold blue ( Q-tip once in bottle, never put back in) wait, burnish the area with 000 steel wool Repeat until proper color Finally use 3 in 1 oil to seal and finish the area I like Outers Gun Blue but each different steel has a favorite or Brownells https://www.brownells.com/tools-cleaning/paint-metal-prep/metal-bluing/oxpho-blue/ Last edited by skeettx; 04/30/25 08:45 AM.
