Hey ed!
Phillips head screws have absolutely no place on a Browning BSS

What's rare about 30" barrels on a 12 ga. BSS?

Answer . . . . . nothing. I could have bought a pickup bed load of them in the last 20 years.

So that's it? Ed has apparently sinned a great sin by being an FFL gun dealer who is selling a gun that has Phillips head buttplate screws???

Crying Bob feels the need to jump in and attempt to disrupt a sale all because Ed is selling a gun with two replacement buttplate screws? It would cost only a couple bucks to replace them with the correct slotted screws. Hardly a deal breaker.

That's pretty sad because in his eagerness to disrupt Ed's sale on this forum, he is also potentially preventing Ed from giving Dave the customary $12.00 for a successful sale.

And I have no doubt Crying Bob would snatch up a Browning BSS that had Phillips head buttplate screws in a nanosecond if he could buy it cheap enough to flip for a quick profit.

Even worse, we all know that if Ed or anyone did the same to disrupt one of Crying Bob's For Sale advertisements, he (Crying Bob) would go full-bore ape-shit nuts, have a hissy fit, and hold a grudge until the end of time.

Hey, I know vilhelm,
Why don't you ask your Nazi war profiteering, thieving scumbag, smuggling, douchebag gun buddy if he might have a pair of the correct screws.
You are known by the company you keep.

Ed, have you considered Zinc ??

YES, 30in. barrels are on the rare side. Not many come up for sale, and a 30in. barrelled gun
like Ed's is under priced. They command a Premiun price. Looks to be in High condition. The phillips head screws, WOW, just take them out
and insert two correct ones. And ''Crying Bob'' that last ''Rant'' of yours isn't too nice. Some body must have their Red MAGA hat on, and set you off. Oh, by the way, Ed
didn't make any comments about the Parker you were selling.

Including Ed’s gun, there are three 30” 12 gauge guns for sale on Gunbroker, at the moment:

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1194112877

https://www.gunbroker.com/item/1208945808

The word “rare” is difficult to quantify, sometimes. But, I guess it is nice to have a choice when shopping for “rare” guns.

Best,
Ted

You and your buddies should stand closer to the truth.

Crying Bob, it's great to see that you are using your own personal brand of A.I. to make your replies---- Anus Intelligence!

If you search Google or other search engines and ask if the Browning BSS with 30" barrels are rare, you will get a reply like this:

"Search Assist:

Yes, Browning BSS shotguns with 30-inch barrels are considered rare, as most models produced had shorter barrel lengths like 26 or 28 inches. This rarity can make them more desirable among collectors."

A 1909 S VDB penny is considered quite rare. They also come up for sale all the time, and you can have one if you pay the price. The U.S. San Francisco Mint made about 484,000 of them.

In addition, you will get results showing several current internet sales of 30" barreled Browning BSS shotguns where the seller also describes them as "RARE". Rarity is a strictly relative term, and it doesn't mean one of a kind or anything close to that. Some are also described as excellent condition even though they may have non-original recoil pads. And many recoil pads are installed with Phillips head screws because a lubed Phillips head screwdriver is less likely to tear the razor cut slits where the screws are inserted. Only you would nit-pick over something like a couple non-original buttplate screws.

BTW Mr. Screw Expert... the screw in the photo you added to your first Post is not zinc, it is steel with a yellow chromate plating.

You just sold a 20 ga. Parker VH Grade that you described as "Not perfect, but pretty damn nice for 99 years old." Ed didn't try to torpedo your sale by saying that your gun had barely 50% original faded case colors, which The Blue Book of Gun Values would have said is considered a 50% condition Parker by many collectors. Nobody else intruded and tried to derail your sale either, and if they had, you would have cried like a baby, hurled more insults, and made up more false shit like you did once again about the old German Gunsmith who had a shop near my Dad's house when I grew up.

You know perfectly well the last time I saw Gene was in 1991 when I visited him to buy a part for a Siamese Mauser action that I had purchased from him. You also know he was a naturalized U.S. citizen, a German WWII veteran, and like most WWII vets, he is now dead. I've previously said that he died around 15-20 years ago, so you "should stand closer to the truth" when you again attempt to pretend that I "keep company" with him.

Gene may have been an ex-German WWII Nazi soldier who stole nice firearms that had been surrendered and were destined to be melted down to make war materials for the German military, but he had a lot more class than you ever will. As Dirty Harry noted, he never would have stabbed us all in the backs by voting for anti-gun Democrats either... unlike you.

With your long history of personal attacks, Thread disruptions, and gutless internet doxxing... it's a wonder that you haven't been banned or subjected to Moderation. But that's only because your partisan Liberal Left friends have not orchestrated a campaign to complain and cry to Dave that you are a cancer who is ruining this forum and disrupting Threads.
