Jimmy, I thought your whole nation was founded by illegal aliens

Back on topic - I have noticed that it is hard to shift 'nearly new' best guns for decent money.

Five year old 'standard' Holland & Hollands, Watson Bros, Boss etc don't make anything close to their cost new.

Good condoiition 'best' sidelock ejectors up to 1945 or so are making good money still - but won't sell if prices are too inflated. Too many dealers add big commissions before selling on and many normal buyers pass.

Sources for good hammer guns and good quality boxlock ejectors have slowed and they are commanding good prices.

I agree that the rush to grab any hammer gun, even low-quality stuff, has slowed as people become more discerning.

The market for good quality guns in good original condition is very strong.

That was a good one...lol.

How quickly we forget.
Seems the problem lies with the new aliens...they want to work and better themselves.

I'd say for the most part, decent to really good American guns are selling. Brummies' linger in the racks with not much interest. London sidelocks still have their market.
Lastly, for the international UN types, the Euro's are being given away for door prizes.

Aliens want to stay aliens in America - we'er just an employment angency to them.

Dig and I will stick to our opinions that good, original condition stuff is still strong. Yes, it is coming out of the woodwork at a great rate, but newly discovered discerning customers are standing in line for it. These are the same customers that were content with crap early on in their gun buying experience, but have seen the light.

Sorry Dig, but our nation wasn't founded on illegal aliens. Back then they weren't illegals. And today our system can't support all of the people who are out of work and losing their homes. Who ever heard of an "interest only home loan" just a few years ago? Money is too tight for the average person anymore to buy expensive guns. How many people have to use a credit card when they go through the Wendy's drive thru window now? And homeless joe, wait until you need heart surgery some day or someone in your family needs surgery that runs $100,000. You'd better have good insurance. Or when your Social Security runs out because the government took it away to give to some other program. Then you'll have a good reason to call yourself homeless joe.

Merry ol' England is having the same problems we are. The difference is; we do not allow the little Islamic shops of horror that sell beheading videos.

Jimmy W - I hate to break the good news to you, but unemployment is way down and unemployment amongst those with college educations and/or graduate degrees is negative. Meaning: jobs are going unfilled, that's why so much has gone overseas. As far as using a credit card at Wendy's, I use one at the gas station, grocery store, etc, etc. Who needs cash, except at a gunshow? Interest only mortgage loans, however, have encouraged homeowners to speculate with their houses and extend themselves. Yes, some will get burned, but hey it's a free country.

Sorry Jimmy - I stand corrected - they all applied to Chief Sitting Bull and the other authorities for pemission to come and take over the country.

People from Mexico coming over the border are probably as interested in your feelings about their presence in the US as the proponents of manifest destiny were in the opinions of the inhabitants of the country 150 years ago.

What goes around comes around?
