I got one of the oak and leather cases with the unfinished Parker A-1 special I bought from them. The case is very beautiful and very well made. What I didn't expect was the weight. I bought one of the A-1's with two barrel sets and when it's all in the case it is a load. That's 30 pounds of a load! Maybe if I leave the cleaning kit and snap caps out I can save myself from a hyrnia! But the case is very nice.

I have a CSMC oak and leather case and it is very well made! It is heavy but oak is not light nor is this case made cheap! I never saw a better made case in this price range!

Kerryman,

sounds like you had a good deal, after importing a fair bit of equipment from the States, I have found a rough rule of thumb - the price in dollars of the item is equal to the price of the item in GBP once you have allowed for the shipping and VAT. There are savings to be made - but not huge ones, I look upon it as being able to source things that I couldn't normally get in GB.An excellent example is the Brownell's magnatip screwdrivers - an absolute bargain considering hom many conventional screwdrivers it would cost to get the equivalent set.

The exchange rate at the moment is probably at the best its ever been - and in our favour

Jonty

Times change. I was just looking at a 1939 Stoeger catalogue and the H&H deluxe was 157 pounds picked up in London and $1150 in the U.S.. Greener listed their prices picked up in London with approximately a 50% increase for taxes and shipping for U.S. delivery.
