Ithaca went to 16-gauge 2 3/4 inch chambers as "standard" in 1934.

noticed that minier design guns are not included in above
ithaca chart...they were made circa 1907, after the lewis design guns and before the flues design guns...

Ed, I think there were some errors in the serial number chart for Ithaca in our "other useful information" section. I believe I have a correction to this chart which came with Walt Snyder's Ithaca book...Geo

The "best" serial number chronology is in the Second Edition of Walter's book, and it shows the Lewis Model beginning in production during 1901, at 55000, and going to 123677 in 1906. 91919 would still be 1903, but a Lewis Model.

Any of these serial number chronologies are at best a "best guess" and some like the A.H. Fox one that has been kicking around since Lightner Library did it in 1976, are worth just what you pay for it on the internet.

Researcher is on spot here. #91919 is a Lewis model. The visual/mechanical differences: The Lewis model has a Top lever bolt as well as the under bolting. The number of screws/pins showing on the side of the frame varies. The Crass has five, the Lewis four.

Love those Ithacas,

John
